Even when God works in everything for our good, not everything that happens to us is good. We live in a fallen world. It is often out of brokenness and desperation, that we seek God. And God will take that opportunity to open your heart’s eyes…..if you let Him. God will reveal something far greater than our individual happiness, …..His purpose. God loves us despite our sinful ways, despite our messy selves, despite our imperfections. God gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). Giving us a path to salvation, to righteousness, to peace even when we did absolutely nothing to deserve it demonstrates the vastness, depth, and profundity of our Lord’s love (Ephesians 3:17).
God doesn’t cause everything that happens in this world, but He can and does often use the pain, the hurt, the loss to be woven into the fabric of His great purpose. God’s purpose will always mirror His character: good, holy, wise, sovereign, just, faithful, and love.
