Having completed the January scriptures outlined through the Bible reading plan offered on  oneyearbibleonline.com, I have started to eagerly anticipate my daily readings. If there are verses that struck me, I journal briefly why that verse stood out. Following this plan will help me read the entire Holy Bible in one year, a goal I have set for myself this year. Each day I am guided through verses from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalm, and Proverbs. What is uncanny is the way the readings sometimes go together, which is not coincidental…it’s one of the beautiful ways God speaks to us. It is pure delight to have a question you asked the Lord to be answered through the reading of His Word. Starting my day with reading the Bible, not only helps to set the tone for my day, but also assures I have consumed Truth from our Creator first before I do, say, or think about anything else. Nourishing my mind and Spirit with scripture helps me discern lies veiled as truth in the world and helps me counter the pervasive and continuous exposure to garbage as I go through my day and live my life. And by garbage I mean anything that fosters and feeds the appetites of our baser selves (e.g. lust, gluttony, pride, etc.) as well as anything that disregards our sovereign God (e.g. do whatever makes you happy, YOLO, etc.).

I find visiting this well [the Holy Bible- God’s Word] daily not only refreshes my mind and spirit but also helps to anchor me through storms that invariably come.
