Even when I wake up on the wrong side of the bed.
Even when the words are not forming to pray.
Even when I am surrounded by those who take pleasure in my hurt or humiliation.
Even when I am flailing in calm seas or a storm.
Even when I have mountains staring down at me.
Even when things I earned are not bestowed.
Even when my actions don’t reveal my heart.
Even when I am reminded that I am no one.
Even when I unintentionally hurt with words, thoughts, or actions.
Even when the past freshens the ache of emptiness.
Even then…the Lord knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
