Last time we looked at our attraction to the Light that was Jesus. Light reveals all the dark corners of our heart and makes plain what is there….sins can’t hide when Light is shining because the Light reveals truth.
But the Light does something else besides reveal….it heals.
Sometimes the healing is from acknowledging the stuff that was revealed.
Sometimes the healing is from sifting through “the stuff” – our brokenness, the events, the people that curated scars.
Sometimes honoring the impact of “the stuff” on us doesn’t lessen the pain, but releases the hold it had on us.
Shackles are never so apparent than when we are freed of them.
When I think of the Bible, I think of all the stories of God trying to get our attention, trying to show us the way to Him. Over and over we demonstrate our spiritual blindness and it is with ultimate love that God sends us his Son Jesus to be the Light of the world, the Light of life.
