The “endless” rope representing the timeline of our existence is apt and compelling. It is a reminder of how often we worry about the wrong thing. And that is not by accident; it is by design. Whose design? Who would want for us to occupy our time on earth with busy schedules, status symbols, accolades, money, power, appearances, hiding our lies, judging others, pretending we are ok, cultivating facades, drowning in our hurt, believing in the illusion of control, cultivating lust, cultivating pride, gluttony, fanning the flames of anger, hatred, bitterness and, self-centeredness, etc.? There is an army of beings who want our destruction and separation from our Creator. These beings are evil ……and they will do everything they can to keep people lost and preoccupied with stuff that may bring some gains on earth, but will yield nothing good for our eternal existence.
But God…..God wants us to be with Him for eternity.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17
Jesus is God’s Son and God gives us a choice. Just as silence can be loud, so is “not choosing” a choice made. Physical death and eternal existence come to us all, what we choose while living on earth determines the trajectory of our eternal lives.
